Helsinki Senior Foundation's Covid 19 situation 1.12.2020
The corona epidemic in the Helsinki metropolitan area is in the process of spreading and the situation is worrying. The Helsinki Metropolitan Area Corona Coordination Group has set stricter and restrictions on gatherings, as well as opening hours in public spaces. STM has issued recommendations and guidelines for the protection of risk groups. At the Senior Foundation, we follow the instructions and recommendations of the authorities.
Since last week, both residents and staff have been diagnosed with corona infections at the Senior Foundation's Pakilakoti. Testing has been done and is being done daily. Residents with coronary have been isolated and stuff have been quarantined. They have been replaced by new staff. Relatives have been notified immediately when a suspicion of infection. We have taken every precaution to prevent the spread of the disease.
No corona infections have been reported in other nursing homes of the Senior Foundation.
We strive to enable family visits to maintain the well-being of our residents in this difficult situation. However, we must stop coffee moments and meals shared by visitors, relatives and residents at this delicate stage of the spread of the disease. Eating and drinking require the mask to be removed and has been found to be a big risk. You can leave your souvenirs to the nurses, who will give it to your loved ones.
